Your expression works, except it warps the triangles because its not a uniform scale expression. 2- It no longer treats each triangle as a separate thing. The only time you need to use an opening and closing bracket is when you have more than one thing going on in the results section. 1- Making all those a precomp, will cut off the part of them thats outside the screen. The code is a little easier to read and the only thing you need is the at the end. If you allow the new Expression engine to help you write the if statement it will do the indenting and you can leave off the brackets. Just one thing, is there any way to get the strokes on the shapes to not. If the property you are modifying is an array then you need an array as the result. Add two sliders, name them whatever, for my example I named them 'Slider X' and 'Slider Y.' Then paste this into the scale expression: x effect ('Slider X') ('Slider') y effect ('Slider Y') ('Slider') x,y You are a saint. In after effects, Ive got two composition. I also assume that you do not need the height of the lines of text because you have not mentioned them. Youll learn the difference between scaling and zooming, how scaling and zooming effect vectors like imported illustrator artwork, or shape layers, viewport limitations in after effects and shortcut keys to speed up your workflow. I am assuming that you are using a shape layer rectangle for the path because a path does not have a width or height. Apply to scale property Scale Layer to a Certain Width w 600 // set to your target width s 100 w/thisLayer.width s,s Apply this expression to your scale property to set your width to a specific pixel amount. This would allow you to set the second value or the height in your path. Adobe After Effects Expressions Simple expression to clamp height scale Posted by Katryna Sleptzoff on Jat 4:25 pm Hi all I know this must be an easy solution for anyone who knows how to write expressions I’m still at the stage where I’m able to mess around with some pre-written expressions but not sure how to write them myself. Scale Layer to a Certain Width - After Effects Expression Scale a layer to fit a pixel width. The array then uses the variable as x for the first value and the current value of the second part of the array, the Y value, as the Y value. The if statement declares that if the combined values are less than 750 then the new variable "x" equals 750, but if the combined values are less than 750 the variable "x" is not the combined values of the values. You have not completed the array after the if statement.
